Our history
Changing the history of plastics recycling
1975
–
1975: Ribawood S.A. is founded.
With just three employees and its founder, Carlos Rivera Ballarín, it began its activity focusing on the processing of plastics and, more specifically, on the extrusion of Woodstock® sheets, a plastic intended for the automotive sector that, among other materials, contains a wood derivative.
1990
2002
–
1990 – 2002: Extrusion, injection and thermoforming activity
Each of these processes began to be used according to the specific design, functionality, and production needs of each product. Also in 1998, we patented Polifiber worldwide, which included new extrusion lines to produce bi-layer and tri-layer sheets, as well as a new film called TPO. Thus, reaching sectors as diverse as automotive, agricultural, and construction.

2002 – 2020: Mass production, new plants and Excellence Award
Since 2002, we have been dedicated to the production of pallets by injection molding. In 2017, we opened an 8,000 m² recycling plant. In 2019, we received the Family Business Excellence Award in Aragon and added three new injection molding lines. In 2020, we optimized resources with COVID-19 measures, demonstrating our resilience and commitment to excellence.

2023-2024: Rebranding, Evolution, and Sustainable Future
As a plastic packaging manufacturer and leader in injection molding, we are revamping our image to reflect our current needs. Our three new brand colors symbolize our business areas: injection molding, waste recovery, and custom project development. This update highlights our ongoing commitment to the circular economy, a commitment we have maintained for 50 years.
Where are we
Largest pallet manufacturer in Southern Europe
We are a Zaragoza-based company that manufactures pallets for export and offers international services. We have clients throughout the European Union, North Africa, Asia, South America, and North America. We partner with other companies to ensure a comprehensive service and manufacture pallets, crates, and boxes customized to our clients’ needs.
Currently, our factory has 12 large injection molding lines, with a production capacity of 2.5 million pallets per year. Furthermore, we have expanded our facilities to over 20,000 m2. Our commitment to quality, research, innovation, and the environment has earned us the trust of major companies such as Heineken, Coca-Cola, Freixenet, Codorníu, and major supermarket chains.

Plastic injection

High pressure injection
It is the most commonly used technology in the European plastics sector.
Ribawood has the following production resources:
- 1 line of 825 Tm, with injection capacity of 4.5 liters.
- Two 1,800-tonne lines, with injection capacities of 10.6 and 14.6 litres.
- 1 line of 3,000 Tm, with injection capacity of 36 liters.
- 1 line of 3,200 Tm, with injection capacity of 30 liters

Low pressure injection
Ribawood uses this technology for the production of products such as pool pallets or containers.
Within this technology we can incorporate:
- Gas-assisted injection with structural web technology, which improves injection performance and creates hollow areas.
- Gas-assisted injection with foaming technology, which allows for the production of low-density products with high dimensional stability.
Ribawood has:
- 3 lines of 500 Tm, with injection capacity of 2 x 39.7 liters.

Injection-compression
Ideal for injecting recycled and low-fluidity materials, and achieving excellent results in impact resistance and heavy-duty capacity.
Ribawood has:
- 1 line of 2,500 Tm, with injection capacity of 30 liters.
- 1 line of 3,200 Tm, with injection capacity of 30 liters.

We are backed by the highest standards of quality and safety. Our official certificates, issued and supervised by relevant entities, guarantee our commitment to excellence. Since 2001, we have held ISO 9001 certification, endorsed by TÜV Rheinland Spain. We have also held the sanitary registration granted by the DGA (General Directorate of Agriculture) since 2007.
